Kyle Gulock’s Golf Course of The Week

Braemar Country Club
Braemar Country Club
By: Kyle Gulock
This week’s course is Braemar Country Club. Situated in the heart of Tarzana, Braemar Country Club is located at 4001 Reseda Blvd, Tarzana, CA 91357. Braemar Country Club offers two courses for their members. The East Course, which graces the front of the clubhouse, plays 6,061 yards from the back tees and is a par 70. The par 71 Guldahl or West course plays a bit shorter at 5,839. Both courses offer unique challenges to golfers of all skill levels. The designer of both courses is famous Southern California architect Ted Robinson Sr, who passed away in May 2008.
An interesting fact about Braemar Country Club is that three time major winner Ralph Guldahl was a teaching professional here from 1959-1987 when he passed away. During his illustrious career, Guldahl won the U.S. open in 1937 & 1938 as well as the Masters 1939.

Rock-Paper-Scissors World Champ Crowned
No ordinary champion…

RPS Faceoff
By: Kyle Gulock
Being from Michigan conjures up particular memories. We grow up on hockey, feast on Sunday football and procure an absurd amount of joy when one of our very own wins the Rock Paper Scissors championship. Tim Conrad clinched his title after 5 hours of relentless play at the Steam Whistle Brewery in Toronto. But, it gets better. The face off was the first ever all-American championship between best friends. The winning move was a paper covering rock; that’s rich.
Conrad will take home a prize of $7,000.

Great Tarzana Lunch Spot for Dining in or Catering
For some good ol’ fashion service

Catering Plate
By: Kyle Gulock
Tarzana Armenian Deli, is located at 11288 Ventura Blvd , Studio City, CA 91604 and offers the best sandwiches in the area. This is a favorite lunch spot for many locals. Tarzana Armenian Deli offers over 30 different sandwiches and allows patrons to customize their order as well. The sandwiches are made fresh in front of your eyes and leave you feeling light and healthy afterward. Tarzana Armenian Deli specializes in corporate luncheons but caters to local businesses daily.
Tarzana Armenian Deli now celebrates their 36th year in the deli business as the ‘Home of the Original Pita Wrap’ established in 1973. Tarzana Armenian Deli is family owned and operated. Almost every time I go in there for lunch, JT and Jim are there to greet you with a smile. In today’s day and age, a lot can be said about the old fashioned service provided at Tarzana Armenian Deli. The service here is inviting and gives you the feel of a small town restaurant. The store owners provide patrons with the vibe that they actually care about their customers and want to see them come back as opposed to the informal tradition of food ordering that we have grown accustomed to. If you are looking for a place with great food and even better service, check out Tarzana Armenian Deli.
